2. Emotional Availability
- I express affection (verbal or physical) regularly
- I am comfortable talking about emotions with my child

- I validate my child’s feelings rather than dismiss or fix immediately
3. Listening & Understanding
- I listen to understand, not just to respond or correct
- I ask open-ended questions to learn about my child’s world
- I avoid interrupting or jumping to conclusions

4. Role Modeling
- I model the behavior I expect (respect, accountability, kindness)

Scoring Interpretation (Simple & Practical)
- 3.5 – 4.0: Strong foundation → Role model dad
- 2.8 – 3.4: Solid, with growth areas → Intentional dad
- 2.0 – 2.7: Inconsistent → At-risk of disconnect
- Below 2.0: Urgent attention needed → Disengaged pattern
